2 Day Training Program

ACORD’s tremendous P&C membership actively pushed the development of XML, introducing a new standard for transmitting P&C information to the marketplace. 

Because of the vast amount of information already available in its predecessor, AL3, the initial release of the standard is extremely rich with detail.  Since then, additional lines and message types have greatly expanded the scope.  This can make the standard difficult to understand and navigate when approaching it for the first time.  It focuses on the data content of the standard and breaks it into manageable pieces to ensure you obtain an understanding of the data structures utilized.  

ACORD Version:

This training is based on the most current 1.x version of the ACORD P&C standard available at time of scheduling. All 1.x versions are backward compatible. 

Please note that ACORD is also currently undergoing a conversion to version 2.0 which is not backward compatible with 1.x.  Version 2.0 training is a different course.  Also available is a 1.x to 2.0 conversion course to cover the differences between the two standards.

Prepare in advance:

Use your time wisely and provide the instructor with specific issues you are trying to work through.  When feasible, examples provided at least one week prior to the course will be worked into the use cases.

Target Audience:

This class targets business analysts and developers who are first looking at the ACORD XML for P&C Standard.   Please note this course focuses on the data structures within the specification and does not cover the XML language.  The XML Basics course offered by Vallue provides the XML syntax information.
